Empowering Your Child to be at their Brain Best – Evening session

Co-author of the book ‘Curious not Furious’ and founder of Changing Chances CIC, a not-for profit organisation, Kit Messenger will be explaining some key elements of ‘The Empowerment Approach’ online on MS Teams.
It’s hard for children and young people to be at their best when their needs are not met sufficiently well. Children and young people often struggle to communicate their needs within certain environments or situations and this can often lead to a cycle of stress-related behaviours. This makes life hard for the child and for those around them too.
The Empowerment Approach helps everyone in the family with a better understanding of the brain and provides a structure and language for children to communicate and prepare for their needs to be met positively. Adopting a strength-based approach, it helps parents support their child in building the skills needed to manage successfully in the world.
Kit will use a range of visual prompts and real-life examples to describe a set of models and tools which enable all adults around a child to recognise and maximise their child’s strengths and positively support any difficulties.
Both sessions will be the same content, we are running it twice to hopefully allow parent carers to be able to attend which session is best for them.
