Sussex Parent Carer Forum Collaborative SES Sight Check Parent Survey
Recently, the newly formed Sussex Parent Carer Forum Collaborative (SPCFC) asked parent carers with children/young people in Special Educational Settings to share their views on the new sight check and spectacle dispensing service being developed for specialist schools.
We asked for your feedback about this on behalf of Dawn Bamford, Working with People and Communities Manager, NHS Sussex who was keen to hear the views from as many Parent Carers in Sussex to help influence the development of the service.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to us.
From your feedback NHS Sussex brought those findings together and shared them with the six NHS ICB’s across the South East to use in the development of the service. Your feedback is already being used to shape how this new service will work in practice.
It’s also a great example of how all three Sussex Parent Carer Forums working together as the SPCFC are making sure children and young people with SEND in Sussex are properly represented in decisions that affect them.
If you have any further thoughts please contactinfo@sussexpcfc.org.uk and we can forward them to NHS Sussex.
Want to hear what Dawn had to say about working with SPCFC on this project…..
“I can’t thank you enough for your help with this one. I know it’s been an incredibly tight turn-around, but it’s too important not to have had a good try to hear parents’ voices.”
