Mental Health First Aid for Parent Carers

Do you have a child or young person who is experiencing Mental Health? Are you concerned about Self Injurious Behaviours/Self Harm 

In response to increased levels of Mental Health and Self Injurious Behaviours/Self Harm in Children and Young People we are running a First Aid Course for Parent Carers of children and young people with SEND who may be experiencing Mental Health, Self-Harm/Self Injurious Behaviours.

The aim of the course is to help you, the parent carer to feel more confident in supporting your child or young person in an emergency.

The course will cover the following: 

• Roles/responsibilities of a first aider
• Management of the medical and unconscious patient
• Basic Life Support
• Choking
• Wound care including Self-Harm

This FREE course is 3 hours long and is available to our parent carer forum members. You will need to attend for the full duration. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
