How included and supported do Dad's feel in Sussex?

As part of the Sussex Parent Carer Forum collaboration, we recently asked dads and male carers to share their experiences, and to tell us honestly how included and supported they feel.

We know that dads can sometimes feel overlooked when it comes to services and engagement. This survey was about opening these conversations and beginning to change that, listening more closely and building a clearer picture of what’s working, what isn’t, and what needs to change.

Some dads spoke about positive experiences across education, health and social care. But others told us there’s still more to do to make sure they feel seen, included and properly supported.

When asked

“What types of support, as a dad parent carer, would you find most helpful now?”

Over 40% said they would like more peer to peer support and social meet ups for dads!

This is something we’re really keen to build on…
