We are looking for a passionate and energetic person to join us as a Participation Officer covering the North of the county. This role is based at home, but will require you to attend/put on meetings and events in the North and also sometimes across the county.

WSPCF is a local charity that engages and empowers West Sussex parent carers to help them secure the best possible future for their child with SEND (Special Educational Needs/Disabilities).
There are four Participation Officers covering the North, East, South and West of the county. Together they plan and run the annual events calendar, help to ensure the diversity and wide reach of WSPCF’s activities, build strong and effective working practices with professionals and providers and they also provide information, support and signposting to parents who contact WSPCF.

The role requires a well organised individual with the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of people, to be able to plan and prioritise their workload to deliver planned outcomes and be able to work on their own initiative (consulting as required) and as part of a small team.

The successful applicant will be IT literate, with strong administrative skills and the ability to maintain accurate records. They will have a good understanding of the issues faced by parents of children with SEND and have experience in facilitating workshops and/or organising events.
